AL-BAṢĪR (البصير) The All-Seeing

Linguistically, BASIR is in the intensified form, referring to the perfection and totality of Allah’s vision. AL-BASIR is the One whose insight sees, perceives and understands every detail in all things, apparent or hidden, inner or outer, from the past, present or future. Nothing can escape or hide from His sight. – Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted. [Al-An’am 6:103]. He has given to mankind the outer eye of the body and the inner eye of the heart.

  • … Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing. [Al-Isra 17:1]
  • … Indeed, Allah — He is the Hearing, the Seeing. [Ghafir 40:20]
  • … There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing. [Ash-Shura 42:11]
  • … indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing. [Al-Mujadilah 58:1]
