Relationship with others (العلاقة مع الآخرين)
THE RELATIVES (الأقارب)
Allah commands us to have good relations with our relatives.
“Those who join that which Allah has commanded to be joined (i.e. they are good to their relatives and do not cut the bond of kinship).” [Ar-Ra’d 13:21]
He mentioned to us that keeping the ties is one of the duties of a Muslim toward his relatives. Do not severe ties with relatives even if they are not good to you.
“Give the kinsman his due, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and squander not (thy wealth) in wantonness.” [Al-Isra 17:26]
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Al-Rahm is hung to the throne of Allah (Al-A’rsh) saying: Whoever connects me, Allah will connect him, and whoever cuts me off, Allah will cut him off.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
THE NEIGHBORS (الجيران)
The 3 kinds of neighbors with their rights
- One has three rights (neighbor – Muslim – relative)
- One has two rights (neighbor – Muslim)
- One has one right (neighbor)
Treat your non-Muslim neighbor because it is a way of spreading Islam. It is your duty to share your food with your neighbor.
THE PEOPLE IN GENERAL (الناس بصفة عامة)
The biggest part of Halal and Haram is with one’s relationship with others because Islam is a religion of interaction.
