How perfect He is, the One Who has placed this (transport) at our service, and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our Lord is our final destiny.
O Allah, we ask for righteousness and piety in this journey of ours,
and we ask You for deeds which please You.
O Allah, facilitate our journey and let us cover the distance quickly.
O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Successor over the family.
O Allah, I take refuge in You from the difficulties of travel,
from having a change of hearts and being in a bad predicament,
and I take refuge in You from ill-fated outcome in wealth and family.

Dua for completing the Qur’an

DUA KHATM AL-QUR’AN

O Allah, have mercy upon me by means of the Qur’an; and make it a source of light, guidance, and mercy for me. O Allah, remind me from the Qur’an that which I have been made to forget, teach me from it that regarding which I am ignorant, and bless me with its recitation throughout the hours of the night and the ends of the day. And, make it a proof for me, O Lord of all that exists.

O Allah, make good for me my religion, which is the source of my protection; make good for me this world, for in it I make my livelihood; and make good for my Hereafter, for it is the place of my final destination. Make this life an increased source of all that is good, and make death a comfort for me from all that is evil.

O Allah, make the best part of my life be the last part of it; make the best of my deeds be the last of them; and make the best of my days be the day upon which I will meet you.

O Allah, I ask you to give me a good life, an honorable death, and a return [to You] that is free from humiliation and disgrace.

O Allah, I ask You the best of things to ask for, the best of supplications, the best of success, the best of knowledge, the best of deeds, and the best of rewards; [and I ask You] for the best life and for the best death. Make me firm [upon the truth], make heavy my scales [of good deeds], make true my faith, elevate my ranking, accept my prayer, and forgive my misdeeds. And I ask You for the highest place in Paradise.

O Allah, I ask You for those things that lead to Your Mercy and Forgiveness. I ask You for safety from every vice, for achieving all that is good and righteous, for gaining entry into Paradise, and for being saved from the Hell-fire.

O Allah, perfect our end in all of its stages and protect us from the humiliation of the world and from the punishment of the Hereafter.

O Allah, bless us with that fear of You which will act as a barrier between us and between us disobeying You; bless us with that level of obedience to You which will help convey us to Your Paradise; bless us with that level of certainty in Faith which will make easy for us to bear the hardships of this world; make us enjoy our hearing, our vision, and our strength for as long as You keep us alive, and make all of that a source of goodness after we pass. And exact our vengeance upon those who wrong us, and help us against those who show enmity to us, and do not make our misfortune be in our Religion. Do not make this world be either our primary concern or the limit and extent of our knowledge. And do not give power over us to those that will not show us mercy.

O Allah, do not leave for us any sin except that You forgive it; any worry except that You alleviate it; any debt except that you [help] pay it; any need from either the needs of this life or of the Hereafter except that You fulfill it [for us], O Most Merciful of the merciful ones.

O our Lord, give us goodness in this life and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Hell-fire.

O Allah, send prayers and many salutations upon our Prophet Muhammad, as well as upon his family, his companions, and the righteous ones.

Light but heavy

Abu Hurayrah (Radiyallahu Anhu – may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the scales and are dear to the Merciful:

Transliteration
SUBHAN-ALLAHI WA BIHAMDIH SUBHAN-ALLAHIL ADHIM

Translation
Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, Glory be to Allah, The Greatest

 [Bukhari and Muslim]

Believers are requested to say them a lot (in Arabic) in all cases, in all positions, everywhere and at all times, any time. It is always best to end our meeting with Allah ﷻ with any words of praises after offering our Salah (prayer).

The best times for saying Adh-kar are:

  1. After Fajr prayer until the sun rises
  2. After Asr prayer until the sun goes down

These are the times in which the angels change their shifts, and both witness your acts of worship! So when they go up to heaven, Allah ﷻ asks them about what they have recorded. Then He orders them to ignore all the sins in the books that started and ended with Adhkar. Allah is Al-Karim (The Most Generous).

The Prophet ﷺ said that the inhabitants of Paradise would even make no effort in TASBIH. He said that the believers will be saying them as natural as they are breathing, they will be inspired by TASBIH, the only form of worship in Paradise.

Prostration of recitation

SUJUD AT-TILAWAH

Sujud At-Tilawah is one prostration caused by recitation on the word “Sujud,” either inside or outside the Salah (prayer). It is Sunnah to do it, as proven from the Hadith of Zayd ibn Thabit (radiyallahu anhu) and in another Hadith of Umar ibn Al-Khattab (radiyallahu anhu).

THERE ARE 3 TEXTUAL MARKS

  1. A horizontal dash placed under the word (sometimes over it) indicating Sujud.
  2. A characteristic mark at the end of the verse denoting the exact point for Sujud.
  3. Another marginal sign opposite the end of the same verse, the word ‘Sajdah‘ is written inside it.

DUA FOR SUJUD AT-TILAWAH

Ali (radiyallahu anhu) reported that when the Prophet ﷺ prostrated, he would say:

Translation
O Allah! “O Allah, to You have I prostrated, in You have I believed, and to You have I submitted. I have prostrated my face to the One who created me and formed me in the best of forms. He is the One who gave it hearing and sight. Blessed be Allah, the Best of Creators.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Hadith 1695]

ALLAHUMMA, UKTUB LI BIHA INDAKA AJRAN WADA’ ÁNNI BIHA WIZRAN WAJÁLHA LI ÍNDAKA DHUKH-RAN WA TAQABBALHA MINNI KAMA TAQABBALTAHA MIN ÁBDIKA DAWUD.

Translation

O Allah! Record for me, a reward with You for it, remove a sin from me by it, and store it away for me with You for it, and accept it from me as You accepted it from Your worshiper Dawud.

Love your faith

And know that, among you there is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you (i.e. follow your opinions and desires) in much of the matter, you would surely be in trouble, but Allah has endeared the faith to you and has beautified it in your hearts, and has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience (to Allah and His Messenger) hateful to you. These! They are the rightly guided ones. [Al-Hujurat 49:7]
