If the woman does not marry in this life, Allah will marry her off in Paradise to the one she finds delight in. – Ibn Uthaymin

It is better for a woman to be married than to remain single, but it is better for her to be single than to be married to an oppressive, abusive man who makes her life an intolerable misery. – Mufti Ismail Menk

Light but heavy

Abu Hurayrah (Radiyallahu Anhu – may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the scales and are dear to the Merciful:

سُبحَانَ اللّهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ سُبحَانَ اللّهِ الْعَظِيمِ

Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, Glory be to Allah, The Greatest

 [Bukhari and Muslim]

Believers are requested to say them a lot (in Arabic) in all cases, in all positions, everywhere and at all times, any time. It is always best to end our meeting with Allah ﷻ with any words of praises after offering our Salah (prayer).

The best times for saying Adh-kar are:

  1. After Fajr prayer until the sun rises
  2. After Asr prayer until the sun goes down

These are the times in which the angels change their shifts, and both witness your acts of worship! So when they go up to heaven, Allah ﷻ asks them about what they have recorded. Then He orders them to ignore all the sins in the books that started and ended with Adhkar. Allah is Al-Karim (The Most Generous).

The Prophet ﷺ said that the inhabitants of Paradise would even make no effort in TASBIH. He said that the believers will be saying them as natural as they are breathing, they will be inspired by TASBIH, the only form of worship in Paradise.

The successful ones

Who deserves Paradise, a Muslim or a non-Muslim?

On one hand, it is possible that someone known to be a Muslim may end up in Hell like the Munafiqun (hypocrites). They called themselves Muslims and were known by the same title, yet the holy Qur’an clearly stated that they will end up in the lowest depth of Hell forever. On the other hand, there are many who were not called Muslims but they may end up in Paradise because of their love for God and submission to Him.

A Muslim and a non-Muslim who do not submit to God may turn out to be the same. If they both commit Shirk (associating partners with God) have the same punishment for the crime. There are non-Muslims, who close their eyes when TRUTH is presented to them, but many Muslims do the same too.

We are all going through a similar test, where we must overcome our emotions and must decide whether our loyalties lie with God or not. Everyone, a Muslim or a non-Muslim, will have to go through finding the TRUTH because after the death of all the prophets, no one can claim to have an absolute knowledge of the religion.

Everyone’s situations are different from others. There are those who are born Muslims but ignorant of God’s law or have the knowledge but they do not follow it. There are those who are born Muslims but they were brought up into the Right Path and followed it correctly. Such people have an important responsibility of striving to be on that path and to inform others about it.

Only God alone knows who the real Muslim is. God, The All Just, is going to settle the accounts with absolute Justice on the Day of Judgment. Only those who unconditionally submit to Him are going to be the successful ones.

The master key

Tawhid is the belief in the Unity of God in His Lordship, in His Godship (Divinity) and in His Beautiful Names and Perfect Attributes.

Whoever has worshipped no one but Allah is qualified to enter Paradise. This includes the followers of past prophets who adhered to their true teachings and worshipped Allah without partners. No matter how many good deeds you will be presenting to Him, the doors of Paradise will not open unless you have the Master Key.

“Verily, those who deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and treat them with ignorance, for them the gates of heaven will not be opened, and they will not enter Paradise until the camel goes through the eye of the needle (which is impossible). Thus do We recompense the sinners.”[The Qur’an, Surah Al-A’raf 7:40]

Point of no return

There is no coming back to this worldly life but there are two kinds of people who wish to come back to this life: a martyr and a disbeliever … and a third, a non-practicing believer?

MARTYR: The Prophet ﷺ  said, “Nobody who enters Paradise likes to go back to the world even if he got everything on the earth, except a martyr (Shahid) who wishes to return to the world so that he may be martyred ten times because of the dignity he receives (from Allah)….” [Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol. 4, Bk. 52, Hadith 72] … so that his status in Paradise (Jannah) will be higher. No problem for him, he already secured his high status.

DISBELIEVER: “And if you only could see when the disbelievers shall hang their heads before their Lord (saying): “Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back, that we will do righteous good deeds. Verily, we now believe with certainty.” [The Quran, Surah As-Sajdah 32:12] … so that they will become believers. And you disbeliever, there’s no more hope for you; you will stay in Hell for all eternity.

BELIEVER: “O you who BELIEVE! Let not your properties nor your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that, then they are the losers. And spend (in charity) of that with which We have provided you before death comes to one of you, and he says: ‘My Lord! If only You will give me respite for a little while (i.e RETURN TO THE WORLDLY LIFE), then I shall give charity and be among the righteous.’ And Allah grants respite to none when his appointed time (death) comes….” [The Quran, Surah Al-Munafiqun 63:9-11]

Jannah (Paradise) is open for all regardless of everything except your PIETY and GOOD DEEDS. These two cannot be separated, they are always hand on hand… the latter is dependent on the former one… you cannot be admitted with either one of them.

Are you absolutely sure the religion you are following is the Right Path? Are you acting upon your faith? “Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: ‘We believe and will not be tested?'” [Al-Ánkabut 29:2] Recommended: Read the Qur’an, chapter of Al-Ankabut (The Spider).
